  17. <p>     POLICY DISPUTES. According to insurance-industry executives,
  18. publisher Malcolm Forbes took out millions of dollars worth of
  19. life insurance with different companies in the years preceding
  20. his death. He often said this was an efficient way to pass
  21. along money to his heirs, but now at least one of the insurers
  22. is balking--and investigating some of the information the
  23. publisher supplied on his applications. Says Richard
  24. Bevilacqua, public relations director for John Hancock: "Forbes
  25. had a multimillion-dollar policy that was taken out in the last
  26. two years. A claim has been filed, but we have not paid it,
  27. pending an investigation."
